Aenarion the Defender - The first Phoenix King, whose skills were unrivalled amongst other mortals or immortals.Though on a slightly embarrassing note, while the HRE connection was obvious right away I didn't figure out that the world as a whole was a warped Earth till I saw the Mortal Empires map. Of course that's not a surprise since the Empire is based on the HRE. I always like playing Austria in EU4 this seems like a similar thing. Probably take a break, then I will try out the new Empire next. They certainly were useless in the final battle. Honestly I probably should have phased out archers too. And then in the back with flying cavalry for good measure. Bretonnia holds the enemy in place with one type of cavalry and hits them in the side with another different type of cavalry. Empire is the faction that holds the enemy in place with a solid infantry frontline and charges with cavalry. By the late game when Industry might be any use, there is no reason to build it as you're only using peasants for artillery and archers.Īnd on that note, the game sure got a lot easier when I stopped using Foot Squires. The only thing it is good for is not caring about the peasant economy, but the only time you use significant amounts of peasants is early on which is when farms make more money and give growth. Also Industry is in a weird place in that you never ever want to build it. I would have started Leoncoer heading in that direction earlier.īrettonian economy might be a little too good. I like how their questline don't really push you to conquer all over the place, though I wish I had known the final battle was going to be so far away.
